FAQ

  • Filling out a FAFSA will determine what type of federal aid a student could qualify for. Check out this page for more information about types of financial aid, including federal, state and institutional.

  • To apply for federal financial aid, you can start a FAFSA application as early as October 1st for the following academic year. Apply online at StudentAid.gov.

  • Once you complete the FAFSA and submit the application, the financial aid office will receive a copy within 2-3 business days. You will then receive information regarding your aid eligibility, or you’ll be notified if you need to submit more information if your FAFSA is selected for verification.

  • Being selected for verification simply means we need to collect some additional information to confirm that what was reported on the FAFSA has been accurately reported. A student will be notified from their financial aid counselor if they have been selected and will be instructed on what other information needs to be submitted for review. After the verification process is complete, then you will receive an aid letter showing your eligibility and next steps.

  • To apply for federal financial aid, simply fill out a free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at StudentAid.gov. This is also a tool we use to determine if a student could qualify for additional institutional aid.
